Caregiver Spotlight-Clarisse Ibe Okenwa
When you walk into House 11 in the mornings, one of the first things you see is Clarisse’s smile. Clairisse has worked in House 11 for a few short months, but in those few months has made a large impact on the residents in her home.
Clarisse was born in Africa and lived there until 2010 when she moved to the United States. She is married to Pastor Ibe Okenwa and they have five children, whom she says are the biggest blessings of her life.
This is her first time working in care-giving but she has always been quick to provide care to those who need her. She serves as a pastor and Christian missionary and she enjoys sharing her faith and love with others, especially through music. You can see a few of the songs she has recorded on YouTube.
Clarisse says what helps her the most to be a good caregiver is her faith. Christian faith is about giving and loving people. She loves working with Seniors and she feels the best thing she can give them is love. She says she has to work with her heart and not her head and looks at the Seniors she cares for as herself in the future needing care. She always remembers that what you give is what you get back.
Thank you Clarisse for loving the residents at Mayberry Gardens and improving the lives of those you come into contact with.
